    (contains the software, 10.000 stars from the BSC5 catalogue and 10.000 deep sky objects from the SAC catalogue.)

    If it's the first time you are using WinStars, you must download this file.

    Important : begin by reading "Getting started" section in the help file.

Note: Some of these files are very voluminous, so use a free download manager software like FlashGet for doing this operation.
You can also order the CD-ROM with the last version of WinStars and all files present on this site. For more information, please read the "Order" section.



Installation :


All modules have the same installation :
  • download module (file with the .exe extension) on this site,
  • run the installation module by clicking on it,
  • modify setup directory if you want (c:\WinStars by default),
  • click on UnZip button,
  • run WinStars.
Warning : It's necessary to unzip all modules in the same directory - the installation directory of WinStars (c:\winstars by default) -

For better results, you must use WinStars with a screen configured in 32768 or 65535 colors (15 or 16 bits).


Removing WinStars :


Delete the main directory of WinStars (c:\WinStars by default). WinStars doesn't use the registry.
